DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

This vibrant, culturally rich retelling of The Three Little Pigs follows Penny, Perry, and MooMoo as they navigate fear, and rumors when Swoosh, a misunderstood newcomer, arrives in their urban neighborhood. I  worked with the author across 44 vibrant images for a story that gently teaches empathy, forgiveness, and the power of pausing before reacting.

As the illustrator for this project, I brought the story to life with:

  • Expressive, Detail-Rich Characters: Everyexpression and pose was carefully crafted to help young readers intuitively grasp what characters are feeling, from suspicion to compassion.
  • Vibrant Urban Scenery: Set against a dynamic city skyline, each spread is filled with warm, whimsical details that reward a closer look. The neighborhood feels alive, diverse, and familiar, giving children a visual world they can recognize themselves in.
  • Seamless Story & Layout Integration: I used an engaging comic book format for the book to support emotional pacing and readability. Thoughtful typography and layouts allow the story’s quiet, reflective moments to land with impact.

The result is a heartfelt, visually engaging picture book that doesn’t just tell children what to think, it invites them to feel, question, and grow.
